New Saints Langport Project

We’re the New Saints, are a group of young volunteers (aged 16-25) working to find new ways to use All Saints church building in Langport, cared for by the Churches Conservation Trust. The building is a fine example of a large, 15th century parish church and is listed with a grade I status. We want t people to use this building more regularly.  We recently hosted a group of people on a  mystery tour from Wales - fantastic!

The New Saints have been set up to lead a project with the Churches Conservation Trust to engage with our communities about the building, and allow new people to discover what is interesting, odd, fun, evocative and valuable about the building. The reason we are doing is so that when we come to the stage of our project where we ask people how they want to see the building used in future, the whole community can make informed decisions.

The other aim of this project is to empower young people. Our project is unique in that it gives decision-making power and responsibility for the future of a valuable historic building to a committee  made up of people under the age of 25.
